Lucid Diagnostics and Front Line Mobile Health Partner to Detect Esophageal Cancer Regions
Partnership Gives Underserved Populations Easier Access to Esophageal Cancer Screening
Early Detection Increases Survival Rate
AUSTIN, TEXAS, February 25, 2023 - Lucid Diagnostics, a leader in AI-powered cancer diagnostics, and Front Line Mobile Health, a provider of mobile health screenings, have partnered to increase access to esophageal cancer screening for underserved populations.
Esophageal cancer is the eighth leading cause of cancer death in the United States, with a five-year survival rate of only 20%. When detected early, however, the five-year survival rate increases to 90%.
The partnership will combine Lucid's AI-powered esophageal cancer screening technology with Front Line Mobile Health's mobile screening units to bring screening to communities that lack access to traditional healthcare facilities.
How it Works
- Front Line Mobile Health's mobile screening units will be equipped with Lucid's EsophaCam, a swallowable capsule that uses AI to detect precancerous lesions in the esophagus.
- Patients will swallow the EsophaCam, which will then take images of the esophagus as it travels through the digestive tract.
- The images will be sent to Lucid's AI platform, which will analyze them for signs of precancerous lesions.
- If precancerous lesions are detected, patients will be referred for further evaluation and treatment.
The partnership is expected to increase the number of people screened for esophageal cancer by 50,000 over the next three years.
"We are excited to partner with Front Line Mobile Health to bring our AI-powered esophageal cancer screening technology to underserved populations," said Dr. Thomas Lucid, CEO of Lucid Diagnostics. "Early detection is critical for improving the survival rate of esophageal cancer, and this partnership will help us reach more people who need it most."
"We are committed to providing access to quality healthcare for all, regardless of their socioeconomic status or location," said Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips, CEO of Front Line Mobile Health. "This partnership with Lucid Diagnostics will allow us to offer a potentially life-saving screening to communities that have been historically underserved."
