Olly Alexander to Represent United Kingdom at Eurovision 2024
Official Song "Dizzy" Unveiled in Music Video
United Kingdom has selected Olly Alexander as their representative at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Malmö, Sweden.
Alexander, known for his roles in the television series "It's a Sin" and the band Years & Years, will perform the song "Dizzy." The song was written by Alexander alongside Greg Kurstin and Matthew Healy of The 1975. The music video for "Dizzy" was released on March 9, 2023, and depicts Alexander dancing and singing in various settings.
Alexander said in a statement, "I'm so excited and honored to be representing the United Kingdom at Eurovision 2024. I love Eurovision, and it's always been a dream of mine to perform at the contest. I can't wait to share 'Dizzy' with the world and hopefully make the UK proud."
The United Kingdom has won the Eurovision Song Contest five times, most recently in 1997. The country has a strong history in the contest, and Alexander is expected to be a strong contender for the 2024 title.
