A dramatic helicopter rescue was caught on camera in Los Angeles on Wednesday, as a helicopter plucked a man from the roof of a semi-trailer truck that had crashed on Interstate 110 near Interstate 105.
The man, who was not identified, was reportedly stuck on the roof of the truck for hours before the helicopter arrived.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said the man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The California Highway Patrol said the truck was traveling on the freeway when it collided with another vehicle and overturned.

Witness describes harrowing scene
"It was like something out of a movie," said witness John Smith.

"The paramedics were able to get the man off the roof and into the helicopter.
Man falls from helicopter
But the drama wasn't over yet.
As the helicopter was taking off with the man on board, he fell out of the helicopter and onto the freeway.
The man was then struck by a passing car.
Man dies at hospital
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
